Vietnam is currently the fifth largest tea supplier to the United States, with the North American country aiming to increase tea imports from the Vietnamese market and reduce tea imports from others.
Vietnam is now ranked 7th and 5th worldwide in terms of tea production and exports, respectively.
Tea is among the top 10 key export agricultural products of Vietnam. However, instead of a sharp increase in export turnover like most other commodity groups, tea exports are declining.
A fall in tea export value is putting pressure on the tea industry to enhance product quality to raise the value and price of tea products.
