Two weeks before the Lunar New Year (Tet holiday), Sa Dec flower village in Dong Thap Province has become a tourist hotspot.

The Mekong Delta province of Dong Thap is expected to increase its flower and ornamental plant output to VND4.14 trillion (US$178 million) worth this year, up three times from 2015,  according to its Department of Agriculture and Rural Development.

Farmers in the Cuu Long (Mekong) Delta region are expected to have a good flower and ornamental plant harvest, as well as good prices, for the Tet (Lunar New Year) festival, which falls on January 25.

Sa Dec flower village in Dong Thap province on the last days of the year of the Dog welcomes a raft of visitors to admire flowers and buy the most vibrant ones to decorate their houses during Tet.

 For over 100 years, Sa Dec Flower Village located near the Tien River has been well known as the land of thousands of varieties of exotic flowers and strange plants.
