Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung has stressed the need to foster friendly relations among countries and observe the UN Charter and international law, including the 1982 UN Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS).

Vietnam has approved 241 of the 291 recommendations made by countries under the UPR mechanism, third circle.

Updating on the situation of protection and promotion of human rights in Vietnam, Deputy Minister Le Hoai Trung emphasized that Vietnam's top priority is to build a rule-of-law state and legal reform.

Vietnam accepts 241, or nearly 83 percent, of 291 recommendations made by UN member countries within the framework of the Universal Periodic Review (UPR) mechanism, said Deputy Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung.

Vietnam and Japan have sought concrete orientations and measures to develop their extensive strategic partnership, especially in politics-diplomacy, national defence and security.
