The HCMC government has floated a plan to compel cargo trucks to switch to operating at night only in inner-city areas to reduce traffic congestion. 

The HCMC Department of Transport has installed cameras at six driving training and testing centers in the city on a pilot basis to improve training quality, monitor driving tests and deter scams in tests for driving licenses.

HCMC leaders have yet to approve a proposal to charge tolls on vehicles entering the central business district, according to HCMC Vice Chairman Tran Vinh Tuyen, speaking at a meeting with voters in District 4 last week.
