Vietnamese crypto players earned $1.18 billion in 2023 from Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, the third highest level after the US and the UK, according to a report from Chainalysis, a New York-based blockchain data analysis firm.

Vietnam was the third largest cryptocurrency gainer in the world in 2023, only after the U.S. and UK, with nearly 1.2 billion USD, according to U.S. blockchain analysis firm Chainalysis.

The Government has assigned the Ministry of Finance to research and develop a legal framework to ban or regulate crypto assets in May 2025 with an aim to combat money laundering.
