The Ministry of Finance (MOF)has advanced $9.83 million from the accumulation fund for debt repayment to pay due debts for the Ministry of Transport (MOT) as the investor of Cat Linh – Ha Dong project.

French consultants will give final assessments before the Cat Linh – Ha Dong railway is put into commercial operation, but they cannot come to Vietnam until November.

Hanoi Party Secretary Vuong Dinh Hue said he has sent a letter to the Prime Minister about the problems of the Cat Linh - Ha Dong railway project, and the PM has promised to have a meeting with relevant ministries to discuss the problem.

The ongoing commercial trial will be monitored by Vietnamese employees from state-owned Hanoi Metro Company Limited.

 The Project Management Unit of Railway of the Cat Linh-Ha Dong urban railway project admitted that it violated regulations pertaining to labour and occupational safety standards during construction.
