During The Art Painting Show, Minh will draw with fluorescent paint, glue, glitter powder, fire and water.

He will also sketch two paintings and then stack them together to make a finished artwork.

In addition, a circus, dances and musical instrumental performances will be presented on stage along with his presentations.

“My show is unique,” said the 26-year-old artist, who has given live painting show for five years.

“The show is [a fulfilment of] my dream to stage good performances in a romantic atmosphere,” Minh said, adding that he would auction some of his works to charity.

He added, “Thanks to the audiences’ support, I can offer free performances for poor people in rural areas.”

Born in 1992 to a poor family in the southern central province of Binh Dinh, Minh has nurtured a passion for painting since childhood by teaching himself.

He studied fine arts at the HCM City University of Architecture and practised street magic tricks as a hobby. He then decided to combine a live painting performance with fine arts and magic tricks.

“Coming from a poor family, I must think of something new and attractive to earn my living, as well as to improve my family’s life,” Minh said.

“One day, I had an idea: combining fine arts and magic to create a new and amazing performance. That’s why I choose live painting,” he added.

In 2013, he brought live painting to the stage of Vietnam’s Got Talent, a Vietnamese version of the reality TV show Britain’s Got Talent.

He created portraits of contest’s judges - musician Huy Tuan and artist Thanh Loc - with fire and glitter powder, which received praise from the jury and audiences.

His talent helped him to rank in the top three of the contest and become popular in the country.

Early this year, Minh was named in the Viet Nam Book of Records (Vietkings) as the first Vietnamese artist to draw paintings with water.

Minh’s show, The Art Painting Show, will take place on July 29 at the HCM City Television (HTV)’s Theatre in District 1. It will be broadcast live on HTV1.
