Hanoi is set to light up the sky with a groundbreaking drone light show featuring over 3,000 drones, combined with high-altitude fireworks, as part of the "Brilliant Thang Long 2025" arts program on Lunar New Year’s Eve.
The event, organized by the Hanoi Department of Information and Communications in collaboration with the Nam Tu Liem District People's Committee, will take place at the My Dinh National Stadium Square on January 28, 2025.
A Guinness World Record attempt
According to Mai Trong Thai, Chairman of the Nam Tu Liem District People’s Committee, the show will incorporate 2,025 drones, symbolizing the new year, and an additional 95 drones to commemorate the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
This large-scale drone performance, featuring dazzling light effects such as waterfalls, sparkles, and animations, is expected to set a Guinness World Record for the largest drone light show.
The program will also include a high-altitude fireworks display at midnight, creating a stunning moment to ring in the new year.
A celebration of Hanoi’s heritage and culture
The "Brilliant Thang Long 2025" program celebrates the arrival of spring with a theme of "Radiant Springs." It will recount inspiring stories of Hanoi’s historical and cultural heritage through music, theater, and modern interactive performances.
Well-known artists will take the stage in a show blending traditional and contemporary elements, highlighting the cultural identity of Thang Long – Hanoi.
The event is expected to draw millions of spectators both in person and via broadcasts on television and social media platforms. A dress rehearsal for the drone performance is scheduled for January 26, 2025.
With Vietnamese and international experts collaborating on the project, Hanoi aims to create a memorable and record-setting start to the Lunar New Year.
