VietNamNet Bridge – An exhibition of award-winning photos from around the world is scheduled to open today, Jan 22, at the headquarters of the HCM City Association of Photographic Artists in Suong Nguyet Anh Street.

The opening ceremony will also feature prize presentations to the winners of the Gia Dinh Photo Club International Contest, which drew about 10,350 photos from 900 artists in 52 countries and territories.
The 52 photos on display are from the four categories in the competition: colour, nature, monochrome and travel. Gold medals are attached to 24 of the photos taken by artists from 14 countries and territories.
Special prizes will also be presented in the categories of colour and nature, for creativeness, action and portrait.

"The contest is an opportunity for cultural exchange and professional sharing, to bring photographers closer to the public and further the development of photographic art," jury panel head Hoang Trung Thuy said.
The contest is held biennially by the Gia Dinh Photo Club under the patronage of professional photography organisations such as the International Federation of Photographic Art, the Photographic Society of America, the Image Sans Frontiere and the Viet Nam Association of Photographic Artists.
The exhibition will run until January 30.
