VietNamNet Bridge – The authorities of the southern province of Bac Lieu arrested a woman while she was conducting a plastic surgery for a client in an inn.

At noon on December 9, Ms. Nguyen Thi Dieu Hien, 52, a native of Dong Nai province, was caught in the act while performing a nose and chest operation for two local women at an inn in Bac Lieu City.

The police seized needles, tattoo needles, sutures, scalpels, medical scissors and other tools. Hien also brought with her over 50 bags of unknown medicines to sell to her clients. She said these medicines are for beautiful skin.

Hien said at the request of some local women, she took a bus from HCM City to Bac Lieu to perform some nose and breast surgeries for them, although she is not a doctor.

The police are investigating the case.

Many rural women who lack of knowledge suffered from complications from “plastic surgeries” made by the so-called “hawker plastic surgeons” who were not doctors and did not have any knowledge about plastic surgery.
