After several qualifying rounds taking place in both north and south regions, a total of 350 contestants aged between six to 19 gathered in Hanoi to compete at the finals.
In the B5 group, Hong Bang 1 team took the lead, while Hong Bang 2 ranked second. Elsewhere, Linh Chieu VR02, Hammer Heads, and Porterror.WS teams were winners of the B4 group.
In the B3 group, the first position went to HSRL-B3-01 team, while the second and third places belonged to the We are from Vietnam and Robot B3-02 teams.
The winner of B2 group was Hong Bang 4, followed by Robot B2-01 and Ws.Aids, respectively. Furthermore, WellSP team was the champion of the B1 group.
The winning teams of the ROBOCON - WRO tournament in Vietnam will participate in the international competition which will be held in Panama in November this year. Running with the theme of ‘Connecting the world’, this year’s contest was co-organised by the Embassy of Denmark in Vietnam and Viet Tinh Anh JSC’s LEGO Education brand.
First held back in 2004, ROBOTACON - WRO is a prestigious educational contest which runs for students aged six to 19 who are interested in Robot LEGO Education. It is a competition based on a science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM) educational approach.
The competition has so far attracted more than 22,000 contestants from more than 90 member countries. Through various robotics competitions and challenges, they are given a platform to showcase their critical thinking and problem-solving skills, as well as to develop new projects.
Every year sees about 22,000 teams compete at the national level, whilst 600 teams, equivalent to 2,000 contestants, participate in the international final round which is held alternately among the member countries.
Since 2016, Vietnamese teams have achieved many impressive achievements at World WRO competitions, including three silver and eight bronze medals.
