Heebab, 28, is one of South Korea’s most famous mukbang content creators, with over 1.67 million YouTube subscribers. In December 2024, she visited Ho Chi Minh City for the first time and was captivated by its vibrant food scene, particularly pho.
“Pho is the most delicious dish in Vietnam,” she declared. Her love for the dish brought her back to Ho Chi Minh City in January 2025, determined to sample more variations of the Vietnamese favorite.
In her latest video, Heebab documented her visit to a well-known pho restaurant on Pham Thai Buong Street in District 7. She had dined there during her previous trip and was eager to return for its rich and flavorful pho selection.
A feast of four different pho dishes
Heebab started with a classic - a small bowl of traditional chicken pho priced at 40,000 VND (approximately 1.60 USD). She finished it within minutes, raving about its well-balanced flavors.
“The chicken is chewy yet tender, and it pairs perfectly with the broth and noodles,” she commented.
Next, she sampled Australian beef rib pho, praising the tenderness of the slow-braised ribs.
“The ribs are even more delicious than I imagined. When dipped in the special sauce, they taste even better,” Heebab said. She also noted how the broth's flavor evolved when she added condiments like chili oil.
A spicy twist on pho
After finishing the beef rib pho, Heebab moved on to the dish she was most excited about - spicy mixed pho.
The vibrant presentation immediately caught her attention. The dish featured a variety of beef cuts, fresh pho noodles, and a thick, glossy sauce with a striking color.
“The sauce has a slightly spicy kick and reminds me of jajangmyeon (Korean black bean noodles), but visually, it also resembles Japanese ramen,” she observed.
Finally, she tried the restaurant’s best-selling dish - Kobe beef pho, priced at 159,000 VND (approximately 6.40 USD).
“This pho is incredibly delicious. The beef is tender and flavorful. No wonder it’s the restaurant’s top seller,” Heebab remarked.
Although it was the most expensive bowl of pho she had tried, she believed it was worth the price.
“It’s pricey, but I think Koreans would love it. The broth is clear, naturally sweet, and very enjoyable,” she said.
In total, Heebab devoured all four bowls of pho, spending nearly 400,000 VND (approximately 16 USD). The Australian beef rib pho cost 99,000 VND (4 USD), while the special spicy mixed pho was priced at 85,000 VND (3.40 USD).
