Mai Chau, located in Hoa Binh Province, is a favorite destination for Tet travelers. Visitors can immerse themselves in the festive atmosphere of the Thai and H’mong ethnic groups, marvel at misty mountains, and enjoy blooming peach, plum, and mustard flowers surrounding traditional stilt houses.

Mai Chau offers a variety of resorts like Avana Retreat, Mai Chau Ecolodge, Mai Chau Onsen, and Bakhan Village Resort, ideal for a peaceful holiday.

With the cold weather forecasted for this year’s Tet, a visit to Kim Boi hot springs in Hoa Binh is highly recommended.

The water from Kim Boi springs emerges from 250-million-year-old limestone at a soothing temperature of 34–36°C. Known for its stability and mineral composition, the spring water is believed to aid in recovery from ailments such as arthritis, digestive issues, and hypertension.

Visitors can choose from a range of services, including private whirlpool baths, large communal pools, yin-yang baths, and therapeutic showers.

Bac Ninh, a province north of Hanoi, is a convenient destination for early spring travelers seeking peace and blessings.

The area is home to historic and revered temples like Dau Pagoda, But Thap Pagoda, Phat Tich Pagoda, and the shrine of King Duong Vuong.

Bac Ninh also offers a diverse culinary experience, featuring dishes such as crispy grilled liver pho, Tich Nghi fish porridge, Nem Bui (fermented pork rolls), and vibrant noodle soups.

A must-try in Bac Ninh is the crispy grilled liver pho, priced between 35,000 and 50,000 VND per bowl (approximately 1.50–2.10 USD).
