Vietnam Television (VTV) and the subscription platforms TV360, MyTV, and FPT Play have reached an initial agreement to resume broadcasting VTV channels.

According to VTV, following an active period of negotiations, the network has finalized a preliminary agreement on copyright fees for its channels with the subscription services.

As a result, VTV signals have been restored on these platforms, allowing viewers to enjoy VTV programming during the upcoming Lunar New Year celebrations.

The parties involved will continue to discuss and negotiate to achieve a final agreement as soon as possible.

Earlier, starting the evening of January 16, VTV2 and VTV3 unexpectedly disappeared from several digital television platforms, leaving users unable to access the channels.

The disruption occurred due to a lack of agreement between the subscription services and VTV.

VTV has stated that its channel package is fundamental to all television services, playing a key role in attracting subscribers and generating significant revenue for telecom providers.

However, the copyright fees paid by subscription services to VTV have not adequately reflected the value of VTV’s content.

In late November 2024, VTV began negotiations with subscription platforms to establish a new collaboration model.

The absence of a unified agreement on rebroadcasting rights was the primary reason for the removal of VTV2 and VTV3 from certain platforms.

As of January 22, both channels have been restored on TV360.

However, as of now, viewers using FPT Play remain unable to access VTV2 and VTV3.
