Young Vietnamese tennis player Nguyen Van Phuong

During the match Phuong was up against Nakashima Brandon of the United States, world junior No.7.

The Vietnamese player lost out to Nakashima Brandon 0-6 in the opening set.

The second set however saw Phuong turn the tide of the match as he was able to hold the US player to a draw with a score of 6-6. Despite the fight back, he was finally beaten on a tie-break.

In the doubles’ event, Van Phuong will pair up with Kevin Chahoud of Sweden to face off against Paulson of the Philippines and Vanshelboim of Ukraine in the first round. VOV
