VietNamNet Bridge – Vietnam is currently at the 11th position among countries facing high risks of cyber attacks in the world, according to the latest report of Symantec, a California-headquartered global computer security software corporation.

Thanh Nien daily on December 5 cited the report as saying that the number of intentional attacks has climbed to over 80 cases a day from 77.

A majority of invaded computers in Vietnam did not comply with information security regulations, said Vu Quoc Khanh, Director of the Vietnam Computer Emergency Response Team (VNCERT).

The usage of less secured password is also a significant factor “inviting” hackers to a computer system, he added.

Khanh shared his view at a conference on Southeast Asian information security held in Ho Chi Minh City on December 4 by the Ministry of Public Security, the city’s Department of Information and Communications, VNCERT and the International Data Group.
