The president lauded the governor for working with Vietnam’s localities and enterprises in order to map out a cooperative mechanism between the two sides. 

The leader said the economic bilateral relationship has not fully tapped its potential and requested the governor and Russia’s authorities to join hands with a view to effectively realise agreements signed between the two sides.

President Sang informed the governor of areas of successful Vietnamese businesses in that are looking to invest overseas. He also thanked the governor of Kaluga for supporting Vietnamese nationals who are studying and working in the province.

In return, the governor praised the traditional cooperation between Vietnam and Russia, asserting that the visit is aimed at bolstering collaboration in agri-business, particularly the cow breeding model and milk processing of Vietnam’s TH Truemilk group.

He briefed the President on the potentials and advantages of Kagula and stressed the province is implementing several policies to attract investment, adding that it has always supported and created best possible conditions for Vietnamese enterprises to invest in the locality.

President Truong Tan Sang received outgoing Singaporean Ambassador to Vietnam Ng Teck Hean in Hanoi on March 23.

He underscored the diplomat’s contributions to enhancing ties between Vietnam and Singapore in all fields with the highlight being in economic affiliations.

The President expressed his appreciation for support from Singapore – the country that he considers a model of development, management capacity and human resources for Vietnam to study and replicate.

For his part, Ambassador Ng Teck Hean reported on the sound outcomes of eight Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Parks and the construction progress of a hotel and resort complex in Phu Quoc island, which is worth up to 4 billion USD.

He stated Singaporean investment in Vietnam will surge within the next two years, adding that several major businesses from his country are eyeing the Vietnamese market.

The diplomat said Singapore is willing to exchange experience with Vietnam.

He recommended that Vietnamese enterprises need to boost their capital and management capacity.

Singapore is among the top partners of Vietnam in politics, trade and investment. The island nation is currently helping Vietnam train personnel for the organisation of the 2017 APEC (Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation) forum.
