In September’s rankings, the Vietnamese women’s football team are ranked sixth in Asia.
This represents a rise of one place to 34th place in the world with 1659 points. At present, the women’s team are behind only five other teams from Asia, including Australia, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, Japan, China, and the Republic of Korea.
Thailand are the seventh best team in Asia, at 39th in the world.
The Asian teams ranked as the eighth and ninth best teams in the continent were Taiwan (China), at 40th, and Uzbekistan, at 43rd.
For the first time, Myanmar were listed among the top 10 in Asia by moving to 45th in the world. India were ranked as the 11th best team in Asia and 58th globally.
The Philippines were ranked at 69th in the world while Malaysia, Indonesia, and Singapore were placed 89th, 93rd, and 125th, respectively.
The United States retained their spot in first position, followed by Germany, the Netherlands, France, Sweden, the UK, Canada, and Australia.

Vietnam maintained their spot in the world’s top 100 and were ranked 16th in Asia.
The national squad remains the top ranked team in Southeast Asia, followed by Thailand at 114th, the Philippines at 127th, Myanmar at 145th, Singapore at 157th, Malaysia at 158th, Indonesia at 167th, Cambodia at 169th, Laos at 187th, Brunei at 191th, and Timor-Leste at 199th. VOV
