VN disabled swimmer wins bronze medal at IPC Swimming
Disabled swimmer Vo Thanh Tung won a bronze medal at the 2015 IPC Swimming World Championships in Glasgow, Scotland, on Saturday.

Tung finished third in the men's 50m freestyle-S5 with a time of 34.88sec, earning a ticket to compete at the 2016 Paralympic Games in Brazil.
His time of 34.88 overcame the A standard of 38.95 to qualify for the Paralympic Games next year.
Earlier Trinh Thi Bich Nhu also brought home a silver medal in the women's 100m breaststroke-SP5 with a time of 1:57.43 to also secure a place in Brazil.
At the 2014 Asian Para Games held in October last year in Incheon, South Korea, the southern province of Can Tho-born Tung was awarded five gold medals. He is the Asian record holder in the 50m freestyle and 100m freestyle event.
Viet Nam sent four athletes to compete in this event, which attracted 580 athletes from nearly 70 countries. This is the second time Viet Nam has taken part in this world event. The last meet was held in Eindhoven, Netherlands, in 2011.
Khoi breaks two national records
Tran Duy Khoi broke two national records at the National Youth Swimming Championships in HCM City yesterday, July 19.
Khoi set a new national record in the boys' U18's 100m backstroke category with a time of 56.61sec, beating the old record of 57.92.
The HCM City-born swimmer also took the lead in the 200m medley, with a time of 2:04.73, defeating the old record of 2:06.14.
At the 2014 Asian Games, Khoi swam in the individual backstroke and medley events. He qualified in the preliminaries of the 400m medley, completing these events in seventh position and broke his national record with a time of 4:24.54.
In other news, Nguyen Dang Khoa of HCM City set a new record in the boys' U16's 800m freestyle with a time of 8:49.28.
After four days of competition, 14 national records were broken. In the team rankings, HCM City took the lead with 18 golds, 16 silvers and 15 bronzes. Long An came in second with 11 golds, 16 silvers and six bronze medals. Quang Binh returned to their third place with nine gold medals, five silvers and two bronzes.
The event will finish today, July 20.

Southeast Asian Games gold medallist That of Gao Hat Ngoc Troi-An Giang took the lead with 23 points, followed by Na Ahreum of South Korea's Samyang with 19 points and Supuksorn Nuntana of Thailand with five points.
In the Binh Duong International Women's Cycling Open in March, Thai Nuntana won the overall yellow jersey for best time.
Today, cyclists will compete in the second stage, lasting 118km from HCM City to Vinh Long City.
The six-stage event, which attracted 10 domestic and three foreign teams, will close on July 24 with a total prize of VND160 million (US$7,600).
