During the Tet holiday, Nha Trang’s harbor has been filled with both locals and tourists waiting to embark on island tours in Nha Trang Bay (Khanh Hoa Province).
On the third day of Tet, numerous buses brought visitors to the tourism port in Vinh Truong Ward, Nha Trang, to participate in island tours. The waiting areas and seats were packed with guests waiting for their turn to board the canoes and boats.
Ms. Huyen, 35 years old, shared that this year, she and her husband, along with their two children, returned to Nha Trang to celebrate Tet with family. After visiting relatives, they planned to explore the islands in Nha Trang Bay.
“The weather is great, and my family will explore tourist spots, eat at local restaurants, and shop for souvenirs,” Huyen said.
Mr. Tran Van Phu, Head of Nha Trang Tourism Port, stated that approximately 8,000 tourists visited the port on this day to explore attractions in Nha Trang Bay, such as Hon Mun, Bai Tranh, and San Ho Bay. Of these, nearly 40% were international visitors.
Phu noted that the number of visitors this year has increased by 20% compared to last year’s Tet holiday. The port is expected to welcome over 40,000 visitors during this Tet season.
Mr. Tran Minh Duc, Director of Long Phu Tourism Joint Stock Company, said that the number of visitors to Hoa Lan Island and Monkey Island was particularly high on the third and fourth days of Tet.
The tourist site had decorated flower roads and set up many small scenic areas for visitors to take photos. Additionally, the site also featured entertainment activities such as goose racing, archery, and village fairs for guests to enjoy.
Nguyen Thi Le Thanh, Director of the Khanh Hoa Department of Tourism, stated that this year’s Tet holiday lasts for nine days, and the province has prepared many activities to attract both locals and tourists. Tourist sites, entertainment venues, hotels, and resorts have also organized numerous Tet celebrations and programs.
The room occupancy rate at accommodations is about 80%, with peak demand from the second to the fourth day of Tet, particularly in seaside hotels in Nha Trang and resorts at Bai Dai.
In 2025, the tourism sector in Khanh Hoa aims to welcome 11.8 million visitors, including 5.2 million international tourists, and generate 60,000 billion VND in tourism revenue.
The sector has plans in place to improve infrastructure, services, and human resources to meet the diverse needs of domestic and international tourists.
