On January 10, the Politburo decided to issue an official warning to Duong Van An, a member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the Vinh Phuc Provincial Party Committee, for violations during his tenure as Secretary of the Binh Thuan Provincial Party Committee.

Violations and consequences

The Politburo, following recommendations from the Central Inspection Commission, determined that Duong Van An committed violations while serving as Secretary of the Binh Thuan Provincial Party Committee from October 2020 to March 2024.

These violations included breaches of Party regulations and state laws related to his assigned duties, particularly in combating corruption, waste, and misconduct.

He also violated rules on conduct expected of Party members and failed to lead by example.

These actions caused significant damage to the state budget, serious public discontent, and a decline in the reputation of the Party and local government.

Other disciplinary actions

Ly Vinh Quang, former member of the Lang Son Provincial Party Committee and Deputy Chairman of the Lang Son People’s Committee, was similarly charged with political and moral failings and misconduct. His actions had grave consequences, tarnishing the reputation of the Party and local government.
