The ceremony launching ViGPT, or the first Vietnam ChatGPT version for end users, on December 27, 2023, was a special event which attracted the attention of the public.

Prof Vu Ha Van, Scientific Director of VinBigdata, commented that with the ability to master technology, Vietnam can autonomously protect national data security. This will not only  stop reliance on international products, but also gradually improve the accuracy of information containing Vietnamese historical and cultural values, as well as minimize the flow of data abroad.

There will be three ViGPT versions for end users, including a version for the community, possessing a large volume of knowledge, with the ability to create content, search, synthesize, extract information, and answer common questions. 

The difference and advantage of ViGPT compared with other apps is that the information focuses on Vietnamese specific fields such as law, history, culture, famous people, landscapes, and regional characteristics.

The second version will be designed for the community of scientists and researchers with specialized knowledge. 

Meanwhile, the version for businesses will be integrated in VinBase 2.0 AI platform. It will help change the operation habits and upgrade business, marketing and customer service efficiency, and risk management as well.

With VinBigdata’s mastery of technology, from the deepest model core layers to the development of applications for end users, ViGPT owns 1.6 billion parameters with more than 600GB of fine-tuned Vietnamese data in many different fields.

VinBigdata has also been applying this technology in recently launched products such as state agencies’ legal virtual assistants and in upcoming products - ViVi virtual assistant integrated with generative AI created on VinFast electric cars.

The launch of the first "Vietnamese version of ChatGPT" for end users is considered a step forward to help VinBigdata bring generative AI technology into its ecosystem of products and services on the market. 

The company, with the philosophy of "Technology for humanity" and the mission of creating "Make in Vietnam" AI products of international stature, aims at promoting and enhancing quality of life for the Vietnamese people.

The ViGPT version for the community will be open for the first 1,000 users to experience within 15 days from December 27, 2023 to January 10, 2024. After that time, it will be fine tuned and provided for free to non-profit units which have demand. 

Users can directly access the application and interact easily with ViGPT in Vietnamese on the interface of website, similar to OpenAI's ChatGPT.
