Mobile carriers Viettel and VinaPhone have urged their subscribers to update their personal information and submit their headshots by June 2. Those failing to meet the new deadline might have their simcards deactivated, news website Dan Tri reports.

Customers of the two carriers have been notified via text messages that they need to add a headshot to their account registration, otherwise, their phone numbers will be disabled early next month.
Government Decree 49/2017/ND-CP specifies April 24 was the deadline for subscribers to provide their personal details, including full name, ID number and headshot, for their mobile carriers. However, local carriers have repeatedly extended the deadline as large numbers of simcards have not been re-registered.
Viettel and VinaPhone told the news website that they have been sending text messages to their subscribers since the middle of this month.
If those customers fail to fulfill the requirement within 15 days after having received the first text message, they may lose their phone numbers.
MobiFone has invited subscribers group by group to come to the nearest transaction offices to update their personal details to prevent overload and better serve them.
