As Japan and South Korea further ease COVID-19 border entry regulations for foreigners, local businesses are confident in the growth of tourism.
Vietnam earned some 394.2 trillion VND (16.05 billion USD) from tourism in the first nine months of this year, equivalent to 78% of the figure recorded in 2019 before the COVID-19 pandemic broke out.
Vietnam welcomed about 1.87 million international arrivals in the first nine months of this year, 16.4 times higher than the same period last year but much lower than that in the same time in 2019 before COVID-19 broke out.
With the Covid-19 pandemic under control in Vietnam, the country now seeks to breathe life back into its tourism industry.
