Tran Dinh Toan and Nguyen Minh Tu, the golden hopes of the
 Vietnamese team.

The 7th World Taekwondo Championships will take place from December 6 to 9 in the city of Tujia, Colombia, with the participation of 500 athletes from 50 countries and territories. This is the first time the event is to be held in the Americas.

The Vietnamese team with the most powerful fighters is now in Colombia. The greatest hopes of the team put on Tran Dinh Toan and Nguyen Minh Tu (the men’s doubles), Nguyen Thu Ngan, Chau Tuyet Van and Nguyen Thi Le Kim (the women's team).

The performing content which is also known as Poomsae is the new event that has been included in the system of international Taekwondo competitions since 2006. The performance content consists of 6 types, showing the philosophy and martial spirit, forcing athletes to use the flexibility of the body, adjust the strength, balance, breathing, eye contact and concentration spirit as well as the capacity to acquire the essence of martial arts.

Vietnam’s poomsae athletes have adapted very quickly and have a very high level in this content. So far, the Vietnam team has won many world gold medals for this content. Tran Dinh Toan and Nguyen Minh Tu have been the world champions for three times. Last year, the Vietnamese team ranked second after South Korea with 3 gold, 4 silver and one bronze medals.
