On March 8, Ho Chi Minh City police reported that the Drug Crime Investigation Division (PC04), in collaboration with various law enforcement agencies, successfully busted an international drug network.

So far, 27 suspects have been arrested for their involvement in drug trafficking, illegal drug possession, and organized drug use. Authorities are continuing investigations and tracking down additional individuals connected to the operation.

Police initially detected the group smuggling large quantities of drugs via land routes from Cambodia into Ho Chi Minh City. The gang stored narcotics in an apartment in Binh Chanh District before distributing them.

The leaders of the network ordered their associates or delivery couriers to transport drugs using ride-hailing and delivery apps to avoid law enforcement detection.

After months of surveillance, police launched a coordinated raid in the early hours of March 6.

Law enforcement ambushed and captured three ringleaders while they were moving a large drug shipment into an apartment for storage and distribution.

At the scene, police seized over 30kg of various narcotics, including:

3 bricks of heroin

8kg of methamphetamine

Over 12kg of ketamine

Tens of thousands of ecstasy pills

Hundreds of packets of "liquid fun" drugs

Following the arrests, police expanded their operation, tracking and capturing 24 additional suspects, including key distributors and couriers involved in selling the drugs.
