VietNamNet Bridge – Two houses in Ho Chi Minh City have been included on a list of 10 beautiful slim buildings in Dezeen magazine.

One house was designed by two Japanese architects, Daisuke Sanuki and Nishizawa Shunri. The architects cleverly combined Japanese architectural style and Vietnamese engineering and construction materials to create an open space filled with natural light and greenery.

Both houses are 4 metres wide and 20 metres long.

The other house was designed by Vietnamese architect Vo Trong Nghia and Japanese architects Daisuke Sanuki and Nishizawa Shunri. It is owned by a young couple.

The front and the back façades of the house are made up of concrete-made flower parterres, connecting the two side walls.

The height and distance between the flower parterres can be adjusted to suit the growth of plants, from 25 cm to 40 cm. To water the plants easily, the house has an automatic irrigation system which is placed inside the flower parterres. Photo: Hiroyuki Oki.
