The US had $9.36 billion and the UK $1.39 billion.

In 2023, crypto investors worldwide earned $37.6 billion, compared with the $159.7 billion in 2021, when the crypto market boomed.

A report by Coin98 Insights showed that Vietnam has been among the 10 leading countries investing in the crypto market.

In Southeast Asia, Indonesia ranked fifth in the world with profits from crypto investment in 2023, with $1.06 billion. The Philippines ranked 20th with $0.5 billion, Thailand 28th with $0.33 billion, and Singapore with $0.32 billion.

After taking a loss of $127 billion in 2022, global crypto investors made high profits in 2023 when cryptocurrencies recovered. In early 2024, the crypto market exploded, with the Bitcoin price soaring to a record high of $73,500 per BTC. In 2021, the BTC price once climbed to $68,000.

Chainalysis believes that the profits in 2024 will increase sharply and be even higher than in 2021.

On March 14, the BTC soared to an all-time high of $73,592 per BTC and the capitalization of the asset exceeded $1,400 billion.

In recent trading sessions, the BTC cooled and the price dropped to $67,600 per BTC at 3pm on March 18. From mid-October 2023 to now, the BTC price has soared by 2.5 times from $26,750 to $67,000 per BTC. 

Meanwhile, the world’s largest cryptocurrency value has increased by 68 percent since early February 2024.

In the past, a record of $69,000 per BTC was set in November 2021. However, the cryptocurrency slid later to $16,700 in November 2022.

BTC, like other cryptocurrencies, began seeing prices increase sharply in late 2023 as US management agencies officially allowed ETFs to invest in cryptocurrencies. 

Thr sharp price increase in the first half of March was attributed to ‘halving’ occurring in April (every four years, BTC undergoes a “halving,” which cuts the daily supply of newly mined coins by 50 percent).

Vietnam is considered one of the busier markets. Experts believe the country needs a legal framework for cryptocurrencies to help prevent money laundering and to serve state management.
