Vietnamese designer Phuong My has recently introduced her latest collection, 'Sonorous', at Vancouver Fashion Week in Canada.
Phuong My (R) is the only Vietnamese representative at the event. Vancouver Fashion Week was first held in 2001. It is the second largest fashion week in North America, after New York Fashion Week. Phuong My said she felt honoured to open Vancouver Fashion Week, so she worked hard to design the collection in preparation for the show. Her autumn winter 2018 collection themed 'Sonorous' is inspired by the majestic landscapes of Tibet. Phuong My uses monochromatic colour palettes for her collection. The colour tones used in the collection are based on the natural hues of Tibetan landscapes. Her technique takes inspiration from the traditional Chuba costume of Tibetan women. All of the silk materials used in the collection are imported from Japan.
