Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh talked to Chinese State Councilor Yang Jiechi on the phone on February 13 on measures to enhance bilateral ties in 2015, the year marking the 65th anniversary of Vietnam-China diplomatic ties.
The two officials, who both are Chairmen of the Vietnam-China Steering Committee for Bilateral Cooperation, discussed in depth how to implement the common awareness that the Party General Secretaries of the two countries reached during their phone call on February 11. Ways to promote the unceasing development of the Vietnam-China comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership in the time to come were also mentioned in the talks.
They agreed to work closely to prepare for visits and contacts between high-ranking officials of the two Parties and countries, including the China visit by Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.
The role of the Vietnam-China Steering Committee for Bilateral Cooperation will continue to be upheld in coordinating and boosting cooperative activities, the two officials said, pledging to well organize the 8th session of the committee in China within the first half of this year.
They concurred that the two countries will increase people-to-people friendship exchanges, control and maintain stability at sea, and sustain a stable, healthy development of their bilateral relationship.
