The United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) has officially granted a patent to Ramper, a company within the blockchain ecosystem of Vietnamese startup Ninety Eight.

The patent covers Ramper’s innovative “Social Login” solution, which enables users to access Web3 applications through familiar social media accounts such as Google, Facebook, and X (formerly Twitter). This approach significantly lowers technical barriers, allowing everyday users to seamlessly experience blockchain technology.

According to Ramper, the patented solution maintains decentralization and non-custodial asset management while providing a practical way to bridge blockchain technology with billions of users worldwide.

This patent marks one of the first blockchain-related patents from Vietnam. It comes after two years of strategic investment by Ninety Eight into Ramper, a US-based company with a development team consisting of former engineers from top tech giants such as Tesla, Facebook, Uber, Apple, and Google.

Nguyen The Vinh, the founder of Ninety Eight, expressed his enthusiasm, stating: “Obtaining the first patent for Ramper proves that our investment strategy in potential tech companies is effective. It also reflects our commitment to fostering the development of the blockchain ecosystem both in Vietnam and globally.”

Founded in 2017, Ninety Eight has been a pioneer in the Vietnamese blockchain wave. It is one of the few Vietnamese blockchain projects to reach a market capitalization of hundreds of millions of USD.
