VietNamNet Bridge – Viet Nam has ten competitors appearing at the 2013 World Games, held in Cali City, Colombia from July 25 to August 4, the organising board has announced.

They will compete in karate, billiards, archery and wushu.

Martial artist Nguyen Hoang Ngan was one of first athletes to be invited to take part in the karate event.

The former world champion won a gold medal in kata (performance) at an open tournament in Germany last September. She also took gold medal at the World Games in 2009.

Vu Ba Dong, Tran Thu Ha and Nguyen Tien Phuong will all compete in the men's singles, mixed doubles and trio event.

The Vietnamese team also has one player appearing in carom billiards', one in archery and four in wushu.

The World Games, first held in 1981, is an international competition, meant for sports, or disciplines or events within a sport, that are not contested at the Olympic Games.

In the 2009 Games, Viet Nam came 38th out of 105 teams.
