VietNamNet Bridge – For the first time Vietnamese singers can participate in a major music awards in the world – the MTV European Music Awards (MTV EMA).

Han Geng is the second Asian artist who won the MTV EMA in 2012.

This year Vietnam’s music videos will have the opportunity to compete for the category "Best Worldwide Act" of the MTV EMA.

This is a new category of the MTV EMA, which was launched in 2011.

In the first year, this award was presented to Big Bang, a Korean boy band with a huge number of fans in the world. In the second year, Han Geng, a former member of Super Juniors, also a Korean boy band, won this award. This year, the MTV EMA will have the participation of Vietnamese artists.

MTV Vietnam will be responsible for selecting candidates for this position.

In the music history of Vietnam, singer My Tam was the first who won a regional award in 2012 - the "Best Asian Artist" at the MAMA Awards.

EMA is MTV's annual awards, which is held in a different European country each year. This year, the award will take place in Amsterdam, Netherlands on November 10.

Besides the Video Music Awards and the Video Music Awards Japan, the EMA has become one of the three influential music awards of the world. This award was held by the MTV Networks Europe for the first time in 1994 to honor the best music videos in Europe.
