Vietnamese Ao Dai honoured at Hanoi festival
Young designer Vu Thao Giang introduced a collection of Ao Dai, a traditional long dress of Vietnam, kick-starting the 2022 Hanoi Tourism Ao Dai festival oon December 2.
The collection themed glorious imprint by designer Thao Giang impresses spectators at the festival as it highlights the beauty of the traditional long dress.
These designs are closely linked to patterns and motifs in former royal architecture.
In the collection, designer Thao Giang shows pride in the country’s millennial history and culture.
Giang says her Ao Dai designs in this collection are inspired by the archaeological relics of the former Hue Royal Palace and the Imperial Citadel of Thang Long.
The motifs of dragons, phoenixes, lotus flowers, bodhi leaves, and ceramics make Giang’s Ao Dai products more attractive.
By organizing the 2022 Hanoi Tourism Ao Dai Festival, Hanoi hopes to promote tourism and attract tourists after a two-year hiatus caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The festival is due to take place from December 2 to 5.
