Vietnamese Ao Dai collection makes US debut
Vietnamese designer Do Trinh Hoai Nam recently launched his traditional long dress collection at the Vietnam Ao Dai festival held in San Jose (California, USA), with the aim of introducing the country’s culture to international friends.
The festival brings colourful collections created by local designers to audiences in the US. Among them is a collection themed “Phượng Hoàng” (phoenix) by designer Do Trinh Hoai Nam.

The traditional handmade embroidery practiced in craft villages is showcased by the designer on the surface in a modern style. His outfits have been put on by many international models.
Hoai Nam has spent over 30 years working in the fashion industry and has made great contributions to promoting the Vietnamese outfit to audiences globally.
His unique Ao Dai collections have been introduced at several major international events, including Vietnam Fashion Week Spring Summer 2016, New York Couture Fashion Week, and Paris Fashion Week - Haute Couture 2018.
His collection is expected to help foreign friends gain a greater understanding of Vietnamese culture.
A silk outfit with a special headdress features flower patterns, getting plenty of attention from the audience.
