VietNamNet Bridge – Vietnam bagged 7 golds and two silvers at the International Exhibition for Young Inventors (IEYI) contest held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from May 9-11.

The gold medals were awarded to a smart book by primary school boys Bui Quang Nhat and Trinh Ngoc Cuong (Hanoi), rescue robot LVT2 by secondary school boy Hoang Duy Khanh (Lang Son), smart control panel v1.0 by secondary school boy Nguyen Kim Duong Hao (HCM City), and traffic safety model by primary school students Tran Huy Thanh and Hoang Thanh Tra (Ha Tinh).

They were also given to a system to plant safe vegetables on urban house roofs by secondary school students Nguyen Chau Anh and Nguyen Dang An (Hanoi), FAN LED by secondary school boy Nguyen Trong Thuy (Ha Tinh), and automatic sweeping machine by Dinh Thanh Binh in Ninh Binh Province.

These are the highest prizes that Vietnamese students have gained so far, demonstrating their creativity at an international contest.

The contest attracted 47 competitors from 13 countries in the world.

The first IEYI contest was held in Japan in 2004 to mark the 100th anniversary of the Japan Institute of Invention and Innovation.
