VietNamNet Bridge - Tran My Dung, 9, won the first prize of group A at the International Concerto Competition held in Jakarta, Indonesia last week.

"ASEAN International Concerto Competition" is a prestigious competition for violinist and pianists in Southeast Asia. The jury members came from Japan, South Korea, Yugoslavia, and Indonesia, while the candidates were from South Korea, Japan, Vietnam, Indonesia, New Zealand and China.
After the preliminary round, each group had 8 to 10 contestants by ages, from 8-13 (group A), 14-17 (group B) and 18-23 (group C).
Vietnam had two contestants who are students of the Vietnam National Music Conservatory and both of them won prizes. My Dung, 9, won the first prize of Group A and Nguyen Duc Hung, 16, won the second prize of group B.
In the finale, My Dung played Chapter 1 of a concerto for violin by Vivaldi while Nguyen Duc Hung played Chapter 1 and candenza of the Concerto for violin by Mozart.
This is the 3rd time Vietnam participated in the contest and won prizes.
Dung is a student of famous violinist Bui Cong Duy.
