VietNamNet Bridge – Phan Quang Dung from the High School for Gifted Students under Vietnam National University has won a gold medal at the 45th International Chemistry Olympiad (IChO).

His two schoolmates Nguyen Quoc Anh, Ho Quang Khai and Le Duc Viet from the Tran Phu High School for Gifted Students in Haiphong have also bagged silver medals.

The event, held in Moscow from July 15-23, attracted students from 75 countries around the world to compete in both theoretical and practical tests.

Vietnam will play host to the next IChO in 2014.

First organised in 1968 in Prague, Czech Republic, the IChO aimed to evoke the love for chemistry among high school students.
