The only silver medal went to Nguyen Hoang Nguyen, a 12th grader of Nguyen Du High School for the Gifted in the Central Highland province of Dak Lak. He became the first Vietnamese student who has claimed a medal in the competition over the past two consecutive years.
Elsewhere, the four bronze medals went to Tran Quang Nguyen, a 11th grader of Chu Van An High School, Hoang Tran Minh Trang, a 11th grader of the High School for Gifted Students of Hanoi National University of Education, Nguyen Trang Linh, a 10th grader of Olympia High School in Hanoi, and Bui Binh Minh, a 11th grader of British International School in Ho Chi Minh City.
The International Economics Olympiad is an annual competition specifically for high school students and features diverse content that is divided into three main sections: Economics, Understanding Finance, and Business Ideas.
This marks the third time that Vietnamese students have participated in this competition and won a silver medal.
