The schedule saw Thi Khiem of the Thai ethnic minority face off against ASIAD 18 runner-up Kim Jandi of the Republic of Korea (RoK) in the women’s 67kg event.

The first set saw the Vietnamese fighter earn seven points with three kicks to record a 7-2 win over her Korean rival.

In the second set, Khiem forced Kim Jandi to accept defeat with a score of 9-4 to make the semi-final round. However, the Vietnamese fighter suffered failure by being defeated by host athlete Song Jie, who had won a silver medal at the Grand Prix in France in August.

Previously, Khiem and her teammates Pham Ngoc Cham, Pham Minh Bao Kha, and Ly Hong Phuc earned a bronze medal in the mixed gender team’s event.

Elsewhere, Vietnamese wushu artist Duong Thuy Vi successfully grabbed a bronze medal overall with a total score of 19.426 in both Jianshu and Jianshu disciplines.

This marks the third ASIAD medal of the 30-year-old athlete's career. Previously, she won a gold medal in 2014 and a bronze medal in 2018.
