In the poomsae (performance) events, Vietnam won six golds, six silvers and 16 bronzes. In the kyorugi (free sparring), Vietnam won 12 golds, 10 silvers and 22 bronzes.

The tournament attracted fighters from Malaysia, Cambodia, Myanmar, Timor-Leste, Brunei, and Singapore.

Vietnam sent 154 athletes to the event competing in three divisions – senior, junior and cadet.

The event is a warm-up for teams to prepare for the 2019 Southeast Asian Games to be held in the Philippines later this year.
