The country moved up 12 steps in just one year from the 14th out of the 68 destinations last year, said InterNations, the world’s largest expat community with 3.6 million members, in the survey.

Expats are particularly happy with their career prospects and their jobs in general in Vietnam, the survey reported.

Vietnam is not only the highest-ranking place when it comes to working abroad but it is also the best destination for personal finance, it said.

In fact, 81 percent of expats are happy with their financial situation, and 75 percent state that their disposable household income is more than they need to cover daily costs.
