Voters in Binh Phuoc province have raised concerns about the safety of the planned North-South high-speed railway, emphasizing the need for strict technical and quality standards in its construction, given the 350 km/h speed.

The Ministry of Construction has recently issued a response to these concerns, affirming that the investment strategy and implementation plan for the project have been carefully studied.

According to the ministry, this strategic project is expected to serve as a breakthrough in economic and social development, enhancing Vietnam’s global competitiveness.

On November 10, 2024, the Minister of Construction, under the authorization of the Prime Minister, submitted the investment proposal to the National Assembly, which approved the project through Resolution No. 172, setting the design speed at 350 km/h.

Given the project's complex technical requirements, high investment costs, and first-time implementation in Vietnam, the Ministry of Construction has agreed with the concerns raised by Binh Phuoc voters.

The ministry has confirmed that only highly qualified contractors with proven expertise, financial capability, and experience will be selected for the design and construction to ensure the railway’s efficiency and safety.
