The source said, Admiralteyskie Verfi has built two 636 submarines, of which the first is scheduled for completion this summer and it will be tested and handed over this September.

The second ship will be tested this May and will be checked and taken over this year end.

Admiralteyskie Verfi will transfer the entire six 636 submarines to Vietnam before 2018 under a contract signed in 2009 within the framework of the visit to Russia by Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung.

The contract also stipulates that Russia is obliged to train Vietnamese officers and sailors who operate 636 submarines, and provide technical equipment and spare parts required for this type of submarine.
