Cong Tri, second from the left, receives the membership certificate of the Asian Couture Federation.

The announcement was made at a press conference attended by Dr. Frank Cintamani, FIDE Fashion Weeks founder and Chair of the Asian Couture Federation, Ms. Le Thi Quynh Trang, production director of the Vietnam International Fashion Week, and domestic renowned designers Quynh Paris, Cong Tri, Do Manh Cuong, Phuong My, Li Lam, Le Thanh Hoa, Hoang Minh Ha and Hoang Hai.

The program’s director Quynh Trang said that many designers and luminaries in the world of fashion will attend the event, which is co-organised by FIDe Fashion Weeks and the Multimedia Joint Stock Company and will be supported by the Asian Couture Federation and Atelier Chardon Savard in Paris.

Frank Cintamani said: "We are committed to providing a compelling fashion week in accordance with international standards which you have seen in Singapore, Japan, the UK or France".

His goal is to bring the young designers of Vietnam to the same stage with the best designers of Asia or the world. This is the second time he has been in Vietnam after his appearance in the Vietnam Project Runway 2014 press conference.

Famous designer Do Manh Cuong said he would not participate. "I have my own fashion shows. I come here just to support the organizers and my colleagues," he said.

Cuong said the Vietnam International Fashion Week will be a good opportunity for young designers.

In the Vietnam Fashion Week, initiated by top designer Minh Hanh, which takes place twice a year, the designs are divided into Ready to Wear and Haute Couture lines. However, the Haute Couture collections have not been assessed to properly reflect the quality and spirit of the Haute Couture term.

At the press conference, Mr. Frank Cintamani gave designer Nguyen Cong Tri a certificate to be a member of the Asian Couture Federation (ACF). Tri is the second Vietnamese member of this association. The first is Quynh Trang, director of the Vietnam International Fashion Week.
