Model Vo Minh Thoai, standing 1.86 meters tall and hailing from Vinh Long, will represent Vietnam at the 8th Mister Tourism World competition.
This year’s event marks the first time Vietnam will host the prestigious competition, which will take place from February 12 to February 20, 2025, under the theme of promoting Vietnamese tourism to the world.
Mister Tourism World is an annual competition traditionally held in the Philippines. Vietnam has had four previous representatives: Pham Xuan Hien (2016) and Tran Manh Kien (2017) did not place highly, while Phung Phuoc Thinh (2022) achieved 5th runner-up, and Nguyen Quoc Tri (2023) earned 3rd runner-up.
For 2025, Vo Minh Thoai was selected to compete. Born in 1993, Thoai is noted for his striking appearance and bright smile, making him a standout contender for the competition.
The event is expected to feature nearly 40 contestants from various countries and regions. Participants will compete in a range of categories, including Mister Sport, Mister Talent, National Costume, and Top Model. Notably, the Top Model segment will include showcasing Vietnam’s traditional ao dai and modern suits.
Beyond competition, contestants will take part in unique tourism promotional activities across Vietnam. The final round will be designed as a cultural journey, highlighting the nation’s scenic spots and heritage sites.
Before reaching the finals in Ninh Thuan, contestants will visit key locations such as Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai, engaging in activities that spotlight Vietnam’s diverse attractions.
The competition’s president emphasized that Mister Tourism World 2025 is more than a beauty pageant for men - it is a platform to promote tourism.
“This is an opportunity for Vietnam to showcase itself as a country rich in cultural identity, with friendly people and breathtaking landscapes. We especially hope that Ninh Thuan - with its Vinh Hy Bay and remarkable landmarks - will capture the attention of international audiences,” he stated.
In addition to the pageant, the event will feature various activities aimed at promoting Vietnam’s cultural and environmental values. Contestants will visit and promote Bau Truc pottery village and the Cham communities in Ninh Thuan.
They will also participate in environmental initiatives, such as cleaning up Vinh Hy Bay, and will contribute to social causes, including scholarships for underprivileged students.
The grand finale is set for the evening of February 18, 2025, at Vinh Hy Bay in Ninh Thuan. The event will conclude with the announcement of the top six finalists, who will receive titles for Mister Tourism World and runners-up positions.
