Vietnamese tea makers are now faced with choosing to either renovate or leave the industry.

Vang A Khua, a man from a Mong ethnic minority group in Moi village, Suoi Giang commune, Yen Bai province, was born into a family from six generations of producing the ancient Shan Tuyet tea by traditional manual methods.

Tay Con Linh is a mountain range in the west of Ha Giang, spread over the districts of Hoang Su Phi and Vi Xuyen, the “domain” of Shan Tuyet Tay Con Linh tea, one of the most valuable local tea types and a treasure trove of healing properties.
