Foreign Ministry spokesperson Luong Thanh Nghi said that Vietnam has many times made clear its view about this city and that the Chinese move violates Vietnam’s sovereignty over the Hoang Sa (Paracel) and Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelagos and becomes null and void.
Also at the regular press briefing on July 18, Nghi said the two countries’ relevant agencies are working on the establishment of a hotline to address issues that may arise when fishing at sea.
“We hope when the hotline is in operation, both sides will exchange information and deal with arising issues promptly,” said Nghi.
