After completing their campaign at the AFC U17 Asian Cup, the U17 Vietnam national team returned to Hanoi on the morning of April 13.

Although they missed out on a place in the quarterfinals and a ticket to the FIFA U17 World Cup 2025, the team left a lasting impression on fans with their determination, passion, and progressive style of play.

With three hard-fought draws against powerhouses Japan, Australia, and the UAE, the young Golden Star Warriors showcased their fighting spirit, composure under pressure, and unwavering belief in their game.

At the airport, before parting ways with his players, head coach Cristiano Roland shared a deeply emotional message.

The Brazilian tactician praised the team’s spirit and growth, emphasizing that this tournament was not only about results but also about the development of character and ambition.

“You played a meaningful tournament that reflected both your footballing skills and your desire to elevate Vietnamese football. Keep that spirit alive. Work hard at your clubs, continue to improve yourselves. Bigger opportunities lie ahead, and I believe many of you will one day wear the national team jersey again,” he encouraged.

On his personal page, the coach wrote: “My heart is full of pride. As your coach, words cannot express how inspired I am by your resilience, dedication, and focus. You fought with tireless passion and determination to bring Vietnam to the U17 World Cup. These young warriors are the future of Vietnamese football. I sincerely thank the people of Vietnam for their unconditional support. Your love and encouragement were a powerful driving force for us.”
