On February 8, Tien Linh proudly shared that he had been sent the official gold medal from the ASEAN Cup organizing committee (AFF Cup).

Following Vietnam’s victory over Thailand in the final, the Binh Duong FC forward was mistakenly handed a silver medal engraved with "RUNNER-UP" instead of the "CHAMPIONS" medal given to his teammates.

Upon discovering the mix-up, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) immediately contacted tournament officials to rectify the error. More than a month later, Tien Linh finally received his rightful gold medal.

Tien Linh had a strong campaign at the ASEAN Cup, scoring four goals, tying with Suphanat, Patrik, and Shawal as one of the tournament’s top scorers.

Meanwhile, Nguyen Xuan Son won the Golden Boot award with seven goals and was also named Best Player of the Tournament by the organizing committee.

Currently, Tien Linh is back in action with Binh Duong, preparing for their upcoming V-League 2024/25 match against Quang Nam in Round 12 of the LPBank V-League.

With his impressive form for both Vietnam’s national team and his club, Tien Linh is emerging as a leading contender for the 2024 Vietnamese Golden Ball award.
